Singapore Property Prices – An uncertain 2012
The prices of non-landed private residential property saw a drop early this year relative to the closing of last year’s prices. As announced by the Real Estate Studies department in the National University of Singapore, the Singapore Residential Price Index fell by 0.4 % in January 2012.
When compared to an increase to 1 % in December of 2011 after being at 0.8% in November, this fall in prices has also come at a most inopportune moment when the country is experiencing negative GDP growth and deteriorating economic conditions threatening to throw it into recession.
Market experts like the Credo Real Estate are calling for a correction in residential property market as they consider that this is the right time to act before things get worse for business in the residential property sector in Singapore.
